Humor is medicine in my opinion. Life is intense most of the time and we’re constantly being asked to make decisions and choices that require serious attention. If I can offer those around me an opportunity to smile or perhaps give them a deep belly laugh then I feel my job is done. How many of us need a moment to just giggle and be playful? I do my best to bring some lightness to the table.

I love wearing hats! I became interested when we attended the Kentucky Derby three years ago and wondered why would someone only wear them to an event once a year.
I also noticed all the hats that were worn in Britain (Kate Middleton’s are super cute!) so decided to continue my own tradition of incorporating hats more often with my outfits! I try to wear hats when we travel, attend events locally, and to galas/fundraisers.

"A ten year Austinite, Rachel has now unofficially earned the right to claim Austin as home and has spent the last decade eating breakfast tacos and working for media, technology, and fashion companies. Her Jamie Slye hat collection (yes, plural) has been with her through a 16” drastic hairstyle change and has added the perfect amount of flair to hundreds of different outfits.
When she’s not working her day job, she is opening a late-night inclusive self-care studio space and nail salon for working people to have after their busy and demanding weeks. She is the pet of her two dogs, Remi and Zooey, and has taken a recent interest in kickboxing, despite the fact that she bruises like a peach. In her spare time, she’s probably spending far too much money on food at a restaurant that has “farm to table” somewhere on its marketing materials, or spending time with her girlfriend in various cities rocking what they like to call the 'luxury micro vacay.'
